2019-12 Urinary bleeding (ER)

From Retirement medical issues

Monday 12/30

After normal urination at 6:15 am and noon, at 7:45 pm I had another seemingly uneventful pee. It was a little darker than usual, with an unusual orangish tinge. But when I dabbed the tip of my penis with tissue to dry any residual, I was shocked to see that the whole tissue was bright blood red.

We arranged for transportation and were off to the hospital at 10:30.

The ER was not crowded and I was taken to a bed way faster than ever before. They put in a catheter and proceeded to irrigate. Relatively painless. Nothing like the hours of torture in April. Rather quickly the irrigation started running clear. I was sent home without being admitted to the hospital. Discharged about 3:30 am, home about 4. Follow up Urology appointment with Dr. Parekh January 20, 2:45 pm.
