2022-07 Covid and Gastroenteritis

 From Retirement medical issues

I tested positive for Covid at home from July 20 to July 31, 2022. During that time my symptoms ranged from mild to none. I tested negative on August 1. Then I started having diarrhea and nausea, which ended up with me taking an ambulance to the emergency room on August 5.

I was in the ER getting tested from about 10 pm to 7 am. They gave me IV fluids the whole time and I had no diarrhea while there. In the morning they discharged me with a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis.

The critical issue for when I got home was whether I could tolerate enough water to replace the liquid lost through frequent diarrhea. It took until August 10 for the diarrhea and nausea to settle down. My Covid and Gastroenteritis episode lasted a total of three weeks.
