Jon Manousos and I were early followers of a local band called the Warlocks. In September 1965 we drove up from our house in Menlo Park to Belmont to see them at their regular gig at the In Room. When I emailed him about his recollection in 2002 he wrote back “That was the time that the audience was so unresponsive that they wound up playing the gig lying on their backs onstage”.
